Hi! I am Brandie. I am 28 years old and I have been working with hot glass since January 2005. I had my first hot glass experience when I was 16 years old. I met a local man who was a glassblower and spent alot of time pulling stringers and making cane for him. After that, years went by and always in the back of my mind was the memory of how much I enjoyed working with glass and fire. When I turned 23, my mother bought me a single fuel torch and kit. Within two weeks I bought my first duel fuel torch - a minor. I worked with soft glass for over a year before the pull to borosilicate took over. I upgraded my torch to a GTT Cheetah. With that comes the oxygen demands of a larger torch so now I run on liquid oxygen.

I am passionate about lampworking for many reasons. I love the way that I can take a pencil sized rod of glass and with a lot of heat and some time, I can create any thing I can imagine. I love the amount of concentration and dedication that I have to give to one single piece of work. I love how every single piece I make is different from any other I have made before it. Lampworking has caught my attention and held it unlike any other art I have done.
